Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), also known as Photofacial, selectively targets pigmented and vascular skin conditions.  Lumecca’s advanced lamp has been optimized to be safely used on light and dark skin types and has the ability to clear these skin conditions within 1-3 treatment as opposed to 4-6 treatments as required by competing technologies.

Lumecca can be used on all areas of the body to improve the appearance of:

  • Sun damage
  • Age Spots (red/brown pigmented lesions)
  • Vascular lesions (spider veins, port wine stains, telangiectasia on the legs)
  • Freckles
  • Rosacea (redness)

Before your procedure you must avoid excessive sun exposure, tanning beds or self-tanning products for a minimum of 2 weeks.

During the treatment you will see bright flashes of light and feel a mild “rubber band” snap.  Redness and a mild sunburned feeling are felt immediately afterwards and subside within 24 hours.   Following your treatment the pigmented lesions will darken over 24-48 hours and will begin to flake off within the first week.  Vascular lesions may disappear immediately or darken initially and then disappear over a couple of weeks as the vessel is reabsorbed.

Improvements in the skin are seen after the first session.  Multiple sessions provide even better results.  The total number of session required is dependent upon the severity of sun damage and the treatment type (vascular vs. sun damage).
